Reach

To the Optimist,

I’ve heard people will say that they’ve gotten where they are with hard work and good luck (the essence of ‘being in the right place at the right time’). I’ve begun replacing the word “lucky” in my vocabulary with “grateful”, because I see that those who manifest their dreams, are the ones courageously & passionately working toward something bigger, every day. Luck requires no action while achievement does. They got there by taking action towards their goals in small steps and big bounds, from investing in relationships that support their growth, to having the courage to take a risk in the wake of failure. They’ve created the opportunities and most of all - given themselves the chance to be successful. It’s not because they reached further and had a lucky outcome, it is because they reached.
